The Sex A-Peel Vibrator that my friends at Babeland sent me is about the size and shape of a real banana – well, a pink one.   The banana part is made of silicone and comes with a bullet vibe that you insert to turn it from a dildo into a vibrator.  The bullet runs on watch batteries (which, thank goodness, come already inside, with a slip of paper preventing the toy from turning on during shipping), and turns on and off with the press of a button on one end. Since the bullet is removable, it’s super easy to sterilize the banana between uses by boiling it or throwing it in the dishwasher (esp important if you plan to share with friends or use it anally as well).

What I liked: When I said I’d review this toy, it was partly because I thought it looked funny; but once I tested it out, I was REALLY impressed with how well the silicone banana transmits the vibrations of the bullet.  It does a fine job externally (on a clit) and a decent job inside (as a g-spot vibe) because the banana has a great curve.  The tapered tip of the banana is also great for user who might need to ease in toys – it’s not the thickest in my toy box, but I would say that it’s medium-ly thick.

What I didn’t like: Maybe I’m going about it wrong (but it’s such a simple toy, I’m not sure that’s possible), but I can’t get the bullet back out of the banana!  It might take some lubrication to get it out, but that’s kind of a pain.  Also, that little bullet is a little on the loud side.

This toy would be great for: someone looking for a unique toy.  I think this one is novel enough that a lot of toy fans wouldn’t consider buying this for themselves, but it does work well, so it would be a fun gift.

The Rhythm O Triple Kiss from California Exotics has a long name, but that’s because it has A LOT of features.  For instance: the entire shaft is lined with rotating beads, the shaft rotates at 3 different speeds, the clit stim has 3 nubs (hence the “triple kiss”), you can control the shaft rotation and clit vibration independently of one another, there are 7 fantastic vibration programs, AND, if you aren’t sure what you feel like, you can press the “hot” button and a random combination of shaft rotation and clit vibration will be selected for you!

The whole thing runs on 4 AAA batteries, and the shaft/clit stim are made of phthalate-free TPE.  It’s a fairly thick toy, so be cautious if you’re a smaller girl or are considering using this one for anal play.

What I liked:  I liked the depth of the shaft rotation, I’ve said before that rotating shafts sometimes make me nauseous, but this one was just fine. I also enjoyed the thickness of the shaft; I’m a smaller girl, but I find that I have no problem with thicker toys if I’m properly warmed up before I start using them.  I loved the vibration programs – there’s one that’s like a roller-coaster: the vibration builds and builds and builds and then drops away, and then builds and builds again..etc – very awesome!  I also thought the “Hot” button was a fun touch.

What I didn’t like: My roommate wasn’t home, so it wasn’t a big deal, but this is certainly not one of my quieter toys.  It’s better with the shaft rotation off (that’s always pretty noisy) though.

This toy would be great for: rabbit vibe enthusiasts!  It’s easy to use, has some excellent vibration programs; but it’s not terribly quiet, so wouldn’t be great for someone who needs to be sneaky with their toys.

Triple Kiss gets an enthusiastic 7 out of 10:

Tenga is quickly becoming recognized as a major player in the jack-off device game (if fact, I’ve reviewed the squeeze play in the past) – though their products aren’t as durable as something like a Fleshlight, they are cheaper, which does make them attractive to guys/couples who’d like to try a sleeve but don’t want to invest too much coin.

The Tenga Egg definitely fits this description – it runs fairly cheap (currently US$8.50), but is not meant to sustain too many uses (more on that later).  The packaging for this sleeve is pretty great – it looks like an egg (hence the name) and would be discrete enough to pack in your carry-on if you wanted to take it on a trip (it would also pass a cursory room inspection by a not too nosy parent or date).  If fact, I actually had to have this toy transported to me by a male friend and he had no clue what it was.

Once you open up the egg container, the sleeve inside can be removed – it’s super soft and feels a bit delicate (which goes with the egg theme even more).  The sleeve is egg shaped with a hole in one end and is made of thermo-plastic elastomer, which is phthalate free, but slightly porous, so this is not a toy for sharing (unless you use condoms).

Since I still don’t have a futa penis, I recruited someone with a penis to help me properly review this masturbation sleeve.  He found the egg shape a little weird, but was willing to give it a try.  The Tenga Egg comes with a sachet of lube, so we lubed it up and got to the testing.

What he liked:  He did like how soft the sleeve felt, and, of course, it did stretch to fit over his non-egg shaped penis just fine.  It was pretty neat, because you can grip the “body” off the egg comfortably without getting lube on your hand while you use it, and when the end sleeve stretches tight over the penis it goes transparent.  He said he preferred it to the Squeeze Play in some ways because you can grip the Egg sleeve as hard as you want.

Eventually we did end up ripping a hole in the end of the sleeve, which was a little disappointing (I’d heard they were fragile, but this was it’s first use!); however, the rip in the tip didn’t really impede our continuing to use it. Even with two openings, it still works just fine as an assist for jerking off – but it does mean that you need some other sort of cum receptacle handy for when you finish.

What he didn’t like: Like I said, it was disappointing that the Egg sleeve ripped so easily, he didn’t think that made it a very good value (though, like I said above, you can keep using it just fine with the rip in it).  He also didn’t really like that it was egg shaped, he explained that this is because, while the egg shape is fun to hold, the toy is really meant to fit over a dick, which is long, not round. This isn’t a real complaint, but the Egg we were trying was the Spider: it has a texture grid inside, which my tester said he couldn’t really feel.

This toy would be great for: I actually think that the Tenga Eggs would make a fun gift – I could see a couple bringing a few with them on vacation for fun or even one partner buying them for the other (preferably one with a penis) before they leave on a trip.  The Tenga Eggs are also sold in a six-pack, which does get you a bit of a discount.   Like I said above, the Eggs are also pretty discrete if you want to travel with them or are worried about a casual visitor spotting one in your room. Like it’s Tenga brothers, the Eggs are a relatively inexpensive (and body friendly) way to experiment with masturbation aids, if you don’t mind having something that will only last you a few uses.

We give the Tenga Egg a 5 out of 10 because we wish it was a little more durable or cheaper.

I like the idea of having vibes that plug in, like the Inspire, sent to me by my friends at California Exotics.  Plug-in vibes don’t ask that you have spare batteries kicking around, all they ask is that you have an outlet relatively near to your bed (or couch, or kitchen table? – wherever you plan to use it most often). (Please note that this is not a waterproof toy.)

The Inspire is a smaller version of bigger wand-type vibes (like the Ideal), but it makes up for it’s more compact design by being clit meltingly powerful! It’s made of high grade super silky silicone and has three main features: 1) (as I mentioned above) it plugs in, 2) it has a flexible head that bends nicely under light pressure, and 3) it only has one button to press.

That’s right, one (1) button.  How is this possible?  Well, when you hold down the power button, the vibration intensity increases.  How much does it increase?  Enough to make my hand go numb when I held it against the head for a few seconds.

What I liked: I did like the simplicity of this toy’s design, it’s so simple to just keep that button pressed until you get to the speed that you like best (see below for the however).  Plus, I really liked how flexible the head of the wand was, it’s very nice for smooshing the vibe against whatever part of your body you want to stimulate.  As you can probably tell, I was also really impressed by the power this smallish vibe packs, I kept holding down the button just to see how intense it would go and it pretty much blew me away.

What I didn’t like: Yes, the one button press design makes the toy simple to use; however, if you want to adjust the speed of the vibe as you use it, you’re more likely to turn it off than speed it up.  Pretty much you’ll want to pick a speed and stick with it, or you’ll end up turning off the vibe and having to start all over to get to the level you want.  On one hand it seems like a pain; on the other hand, I couldn’t decide if it was much worse than scrolling through a selection of vibration programs on other vibes. The other thing too, is that it can get pretty loud once the vibration gets turned up to the higher levels.

This would be great for: someone looking for a smaller wand vibe that packs a punch, but who doesn’t have to worry about waking a roommate with a noisy toy.

The people from EatWhateverMints don’t want [...]]]> As soon as I opened up the package of the Eat Whatever Mints from Babeland I giggled when I saw the instructions – one section is labeled “suck” and the other section is labeled “swallow”. My sense of humour aside, the concept behind these mints is pretty awesome.

The people from EatWhateverMints don’t want you to worry about avoiding yummy garlic in your food, or skipping coffee after dinner because you’re worried about having bad breath for make-outs/sex later.   Their product aims to fight bad breath on two fronts: in your mouth with their mints that you suck, and in your throat/tummy with the jelly that you swallow.

The jelly has ingredients like parsley seed oil (which is sometimes used to freshen breath, but can also induce labour for pregnant women – which explains the warning on the package), sunflower oil, and peppermint.

I decided to put this product to the test on two fronts: once to get rid of yucky coffee mouth after enjoying an iced cap on my way home, and once another day after eating a yummy dinner that included onion.

What I liked:  The mint that you suck tastes good, it’s strong but not painfully minty (like Altoids).  Also, the jelly that you swallow actually does give you the impression that is is doing something, because it makes your throat feel all minty.  In both situations when I tried these combo mints, I felt like they worked – my breath felt fresher, even after the mint that you suck was long gone.

What I didn’t like: no real complaints, as promised it freshened my breath beyond the “life” of the mint that you suck.

This would be great for: people who worry about having bad breath on a date, before a meeting, in class, during an orgy, etc.

It’s really a fun a book – it’s colourful, with lots [...]]]> My friends at Babeland sent me a copy of their new book, The Guide to Mind-Blowing Sex and I’ve had it sitting on my bedside table for the past few weeks, so I can flip through and read different sections whenever I have time. :)

It’s really a fun a book – it’s colourful, with lots of illustrations and pictures – while still being informative and interesting.  It’s written with women readers as the audience (though anyone would find it entertaining and educational), and starts out with a chapter about the “Lay of the Land” that talks all about the female anatomy (later on there’s a chapter about “Him and His Body”).   The book moves through topics like masturbation (own your orgasm!), using sex toys, lube, and bedroom advice (BDSM, using strap-ons, improving your communication, etc).

The whole tone of the writing is light-hearted – which I think is great because sex is supposed to be a fun and light-hearted affair!  The photos represent lots of different body types (since, you know, not everyone is a size 0 or 2), different cultures/ethnicities, and shows both heterosexual and homosexual couples – which is great because all of us like to have fun, regardless of how we look or what gender we are interested in having sex with.

The information is presented in such a way that it’s accessible to people who are knew to the whole idea of enjoying their body as well as someone elses’, but there’s also some great tit bits for more experienced and knowledgeable readers.

To me Moregasm seems like an excellent gift for a young woman (or even a young man) heading off to University or for a couple about to be married (for a bridal shower or as part of your wedding gift to them).   The recipient might blush at first, but after flipping through the book even once, they’ll be intrigued enough to give it a deeper read through.
