Make Your Own Porn!

Purchasing good pornography can be confusing and expensive (or time consuming if you are looking for free stuff on the web), so why not save some time and make your own!

The first step in making your own porn is deciding on the kind. Would you rather film or take pictures of yourself and/or your partner (or another consenting adult)?

When taking pictures or filming your porn, you want to make sure that your subject(s) look(s) their best. Take some tips from “A night in Paris” – don’t use night vision, and don’t ham it up in front of the camera – try to act natural.

I recommend using soft lighting (but not too dim or the quality will be grainy). The pros actually keep their cameras a little out of focus because it reduces the fine detail captured and makes their subjects look better, but soft lighting can do a lot too.

Another good tip is to keep your “problem areas” covered. If you hate your thighs, wear a skirt; if you hate your calves, don’t have them in the shot; if you hate your ass, film it in flattering ways or not at all (you can make your ass look nicer on camera by bending over and sticking it out – that makes the muscles look tighter and irons out dimples). Conversely, if you love how your penis looks from the side, film it from the side; love your breasts?, make them a feature!

Now, think about what you want to do in the pictures/film. Do you want to be taking your clothes off? Do you want to be masturbating? Do you want to be having sex with your partner (or another consenting adult)? Decide what you want to show and how you want to show it. If you are feeling really professional, you might even want to draw up a storyboard.

It’s also important to consider why your are filming or taking pictures of this. Is it for your private collection? For a partner who is far away? Or is it for your amateur porn site that you created to help pay for textbooks? If you are making it for yourself, concentrate on doing things that will turn you on when you look at it later; for your partner, think about the kinds of things that they might like to see. And if you are doing this for your amateur porn site – I’ve been told the money shot is key.

Shooting your own porn isn’t really possible with a conventional camera (unless you develop your own film) so you’re going to need a digital camera, video camera, or (in a pinch) a camera phone. And really this digital technology is better because, with a digital camera you can look at the photo right away and decide if you like it or if the angle wasn’t quite right.

Next – pick your venue. Public places might not be a good idea because you risk being found and fined for public nudity. But if you have your heart set on taking dirty pictures of yourself in the UC, at least go late at night or really early in the morning (not alone, for safety’s sake) and find a secluded area (like *cough* the off-campus mailbox area ^_~).

I recommend sticking to private places, your bedroom, your office, etc, where you are not going to be interrupted mid shoot and where you can feel free to do whatever you want.

Unless you have a camera person that you trust, the next step is figuring out how to set up your camera. Ideally it would be best to use a tripod, but not everyone has these. Holding the camera yourself can be troublesome and may result in pictures of half a breast or of the floor when you drop your camera. So your best option is to set your camera up on something and use the timer.

I recommend choosing a venue that has got shelves or other surfaces to put the camera on while you shoot. Set the camera on the surface and check the display. Make a note of what parts of the room are in the frame so that you can stay in the shot. You can even take a test picture of yourself to help pick the right place to stand so that you (and/or your subject) look your best.

Here’s another tip – if you are using a flash, DON’T put the camera below whatever you are shooting (unless you are shooting a close-up of your vagina or other body parts). If the flash is below the subject of the shot, the whole upper half of your amateur porn star will be cast into very non sexy shadow.

Try out some poses for the camera, try things you’ve seen in porn, and keep checking your pictures to make sure you like what you’re seeing. But, above all, have fun with it! You’re now a super sexy amateur porn star!!
