Personally I’ve always held the hypothesis that people end up in the friendzone (in general) for 3 main reasons:

1. As Micheal says above, it can have to do with Attraction – if the other person isn’t attracted to you; BAM! Friendzoned.

2. Lack of Assertiveness – this is part of the [...]]]>

Personally I’ve always held the hypothesis that people end up in the friendzone (in general) for 3 main reasons:

1. As Micheal says above, it can have to do with Attraction – if the other person isn’t attracted to you; BAM! Friendzoned.

2. Lack of Assertiveness – this is part of the “nice guys finish last” idea.  It’s not that nice guys aren’t assertive, it’s that the ones who aren’t assertive are the ones who wine about not getting the partner they wanted.  You have to make a move so that the other person knows you’re interested; and you can’t always just say that you’re interested, you have to show it (in a respectful fashion please – The S Spot certainly does not advocate sexual harassment or assault).

3. Not Being Able to Read Social Cues Well Enough – Sometimes you have a window of opportunity with a person and if you can’t pick up on the signal they are putting out, that window can open and close without you realizing it!
