Product Review - Bondage Tape
I have to admit, I was skeptical of Bondage Tape when I first read about it, but the promise of a non-sticky, re-usable tape did make me curious. I kinda expected it to be about as sticky as a post-it note and didn’t expect it to hold up under pressure - boy was I wrong.
The roll of Bondage Tape that the nice people over at Vibe Review sent to me looked like an ordinary roll of clear tape in the package - with barbed-wire and little roses printed on it. ^_~
But when I opened up the package, I realized that what was on the role was actually a thin strip of plastic. You cut the “tape” to the lengths you want, bind it around your partner(s), and press it against itself to make it stick.
What I liked: I was genuinely impressed with this bondage tape, it was super easy to use and definitely lives up to it’s promises. I also really liked that it was reusable (unlike sticky bondage tapes). I was impressed with how well it stuck to itself too: it comfortably and securely held my wrist to my calf - even in the air - and yet I was able to escape with little difficulty when I’d had enough. Even just an inch overlap will hold pretty darn securely. Also, since it’s not sticky, you can use this “tape” with furniture without leaving sticky residue or ruining the finish.
What he liked: he appreciated that he didn’t have to worry about the tape pulling out the hair on his arms and legs (since it’s non-sticky). He also says that he had fun figuring out different ways to tie me up.
What I didn’t like: Well, I guess it was a bit of a hassle to have to bring scissors and cut the tape since it couldn’t be ripped by hand; but once you have a few strips cut you’re pretty set because you can use them over and over.
This Toy would be great for: beginners to the bondage scene or more casual bondage players. More seasoned players would probably still have fun with the different texture and handiness of the bondage tape, but I think that it’s light hearted feel, the ease of use, and the fact that it’s not impossible to escape from (just don’t put it on too tight!) would encourage newbies and help them feel more at ease with bondage play in general.
The Bondage Tape was easy to use, super fun to play with, and definitely lived up to it’s promises, how can it not get a 10/10?!
