I think I have come up with a good possible option for you.
Have you ever seen those small back massagers that many stores sell? They cost around $10 and look like little three legged stools that you can hold in your hand. These little massagers vibrate pretty strongly and they have three or four nodes that you can press against whatever body part you want stimulated, or you could flip it over and use the bigger handle part.
This should be perfect for you because these massagers really don’t look at all like a sex toy (unlike the Hitachi) and no one would wonder why you have one in your bedroom (like they might if you kept a toothbrush on your bedside table).
Pick one up as if on a whim; it’s something that you could totally buy with friends or family around without feeling embarrassed . Let people see you using it to massage your shoulders or quads – that way if anyone happens to hear a buzzing coming from your room late at night they will just think that your shoulders are sore, not that you’re humming your way to ecstasy.

Absolutely true – in fact, I walked into the local drugstore earlier today and picked up something just like that. It’s called a Comet or something, and it’s sort of a black and chrome thing that looks kind of like a futuristic desk toy (and glows different colors when you turn it on). Also, the multi-prong ones can be put to excellent use by either gender with a bit of creativity. Plus, they can give you a good regular massage to boot :) It’s also interesting to read the “medical advice” that often comes with them, demonstrating their status as a legitimate medical device rather than a toy of… any sort…
Also, another unobtrusive solution: Get a gaming console of some sort, and then pick up a controller with force feedback…

Anyway, whether something qualifies as sex toy is clearly in the eye of the (be)holder. If it vibrates there’s a good chance it can be used as one and will be. Abused one these massagers too (not even mine LOL) but I find it’s too mechanic and monotonous.
