I recently noticed that someone landed on my blog after searching the term “what are keggle exercises?”
Kegel (often misspelled as “Keggle” or “keggel” or “kegle”) exercises are named after the gynecologist Dr Arnold Kegel, who cared so much about vaginas that he gave them exercises to do so that they could stay in shape.
Kegel exercises are done by clenching and unclenching the muscles at the bottom of the pelvis (specifically the pubococcygeus muscle). I’ve been told that we should be doing 50-100 clenches each day.
Kegel exercises strengthen the pubococcygeus muscle (aka PC or kegel muscle), which is found in both men and women and is incredibly useful! It controls urine flow, contracts during orgasms, and surrounds the openings of the ass, vagina, and bladder.
In women kegel exercises can help strengthen and tone the pelvic muscles which is great for tightening up after child birth, preventing urinary incontinence (i.e. peeing your panties when you sneeze), and can be a lot of fun during penetrative sex. A male partner should be able to feel the muscles tighten around his cock as you clench them.
To get an even more intense workout, ladies, try doing your kegles with something inside your vag, like a kegelcisor, an appropriately shaped piece of foam, or a dildo. (Ben Wa Balls are also supposed to work. )
In men (yes it works for the guys too!) kegel exercises are said to be able to help him reach orgasm without ejaculation (more on that later) and even multiple orgasms! Doing kegel exercises will also raise and lower his balls (which could be a fun party trick) and work out his anal muscles (which could handy during penetrative anal sex).
[Oh! Just don't do your kegels when you are peeing. Messing with the muscles down there when pee is trying to get out could cause a backflow and result in a urinary tract infection.]

The info I’ve read, a book I read said you shouldnt do Kegels too much in one day or you can over stress the muscle. So rather than 50-100, it said only 3-5 (that is, when you are specifically practicing for sex).
On top of that, it pretty much was opposite of what you said. I thought the best way to practice Kegels (again for sex) was to do it while peeing. Instructions say to sit down (men and women) and try to hold the flow. Just like any other muscle, start with slow reps, so hold it for 3 seconds your first few times, then move up to 5, 7, no more than 10.
Anyway I cant remember the name of the book, when I find it I will post it. Since I’ve found The S Spot you’ve become my Sex Sensei…think you can find some credible sources to clear this up for me until then?

During my pregnancy I was told to do the kegel exercises during the peeing?? So I would pee and then hold it and then pee again. It was to strengthen for labor and delivery. I wound up having a c-section in the end but was good to get things ready for the just in case. I never thought of doing it for sex though. Sounds interesting. :)
