Boys and Girls and Numbers
Yesterday’s post reminded me of a reader’s comment from a few weeks ago about one of the polls I had up on the old site:
“I just took your poll “How do you identify yourself,” how does it feel that so many more men come to your blog than women? Is that what you expect/expected as the writer? Is that the norm? ”
Wanna see a pretty graph of the actual poll results?
However, it’s funny that you look at my stats and only notice how many more men visit my site - when I look at the results of that survey I can’t help noticing a few other trends.
For instance, I do have fairly young readership - the majority (52%) of my readers are men AND women between ~18-25. So that’s pretty cool, clearly something about how I write appeals to a younger crowd than a few of the other sex blogs out there.
And, although I do have more men visiting (or at least answering my poll) than women, the amount of younger women visiting my site is comparable to the amount of younger men - which is also really neat and nice to see. So something about how/what I write definitely seems to appeal to a number of women. This is especially fun because I’ve seen similar polls on a couple other sites, but they didn’t have nearly as many women (answering their polls) as I seem to.
I’m happy to see that both men and women (and I hope people in between) enjoy my site (and answer my polls) because I do write for everyone and try not to focus on just one gender or another. However, it doesn’t surprise me too much that my poll says the majority of my readers identify as dudes.
Society expects men to look for sexy stuff online, but doesn’t really put this expectation on women. In fact, if you look around the internets, a lot of the sexy stuff out there is quite obviously designed with men in mind.
And then a lot of the stuff out there that IS set up for women is cheesy and/or doesn’t really meet the needs of women who have advanced beyond Cosmo’s incredibly repetitive “50 tips for pleasing your man” and their constantly recylced “Kama Sutra”.
So, in conclusion - well done my female readers! I hope you keep coming, and keep bringing your girl friends because the world needs more sexually aware women. If I’m ever not meeting your needs, you should feel free to send me an e-mail and let me know.
P.S. Boys, I of course appreciate your readership too - sexually intelligent men are super important as well! <3

Every other magazine on the rack has those “50 tips for pleasing your man” articles.
Now if someone could point me toward the magazine that has an article that gives me “50 tips on pleasing my woman?”. I’m always open to new things, and I’m positive that my lady would not say no to new pleasures.
