Well folks,
today is the day when a lot of websites are protesting the proposed PIPA bill.
It seems that we (and by “we” I mean my American readers, though this bill would still affect me, up here in Canada) were threatened with SOPA just to freak everyone out, so that when PIPA was proposed it would look much more sane and it would look like an acceptable option.
But PIPA is not sane and NOT an acceptable option – the wording of this bill is still so vague that it would give a few people way too much power over the internet.

SOPA and PIPA have been shelved, thankfully. But now we’ve got something bigger to worry about: ACTA, the Anti Counterfeiting Trade Agreement. It may seem like it helps on the surface, but it has the exact same negative qualities as SOPA and PIPA, only on a more global scale. Spread the word around about ACTA!
