Reader Question – What’s up with BB Hentai?

“As I begin to explore the beautiful art of hentai a little more, I’m noticing some repeating themes [like] large breasts. Are these Japanese cultural fetishes of some kind? I guess many Asian women tend to have small breasts, so large-breasted women must look pretty appealing to Japanese men.”

Actually it’s not just Asian women who tend to have small breasts – though it really depends on what you consider “small” – the average breast size for all women is a B cup, which some people might consider small. You’ll find pretty much the same distribution of breast sizes anywhere you go.

I don’t think an interest in large breasts is strictly an Hentai (or Asian) thing, look at how many women in our western porn – heck, even in our mainstream media – have larger than average breasts, whether they are natural or surgically enhanced.

[As a side note, many people blame the influence of American media for women's concerns about their breast size as well as general body dissatisfaction - sisters, you don't have to have big boobs to be hot and enjoy sex!]

Because hentai is drawings, not photographs, the female characters can have ridiculously sized breasts or be totally flat chested – it’s all up the whim of the particular artist.

So, it may be that female hentai characters are frequently drawn with large breasts because the artist has an interest in larger breasts.

Or, it may be that the artist is trying to make a living with their art and since larger breasts seem to sell, that’s what they tend to draw.

I know that, personally, I select hentai images of women with larger breasts to use in my posts. I do this on purpose because I would never want to mistakenly be accused of using images that portray under-aged characters. This could be another reason for the frequency that we see images of hentai women with large breasts – so that you know that you are looking at a woman and not a girl! [This goes along with Brin's ideas on the development of round human breasts.]

Of course hentai with small breasted adult characters does exist, just like you can find live porn with small breasted women – it just might be that, on average, you’ll see more hentai and porn with large breasted women than with small. It’s a shame that porn seems to mainly feature the upper percentile of breast size, but true nonetheless.
