I was actually really excited to try this toy because I’ve been in need of a good massage for some time now. [I used to have a wooden massager similar to this one, but I think it ended up left with an ex many years ago.]
Now, I’m a small girl with a small back, but I figured that this test might be more than I could handle on my own. It took a little convincing, but I managed to acquire an assistant to help me out with this “research” project.
First, I sat in my chair, leaned against my desk and had my assistant massage me through my top. We found that this worked very well; the whole massager is hard plastic so it slid over the material quite easily. It felt great all over my back. However, when it came time to massage my shoulders and neck, we found that the toy stuck a little on my bare skin – time to get out the massage oil.
I dimmed the lights, took off my top, and stretched out on my yoga mat – while my faithful assistant grabbed the massage oil.
First we tried a little massage by hand sans oil and again with oil, so that I could have a basis for comparison. The hand massage felt great, especially with the oil, so I was very eager to see how the toy would compare.
At first I wasn’t sure if my assistant was using their thumbs or the knobs of the toy, but I was able to identify the massager once I felt the steady, even pressure of the two smaller knobs gliding along the muscles at the edges of my spine – more even and steady pressure than the thumbs of my assistant could provide.
One of the features of this toy is that it’s got two different sizes of knobs – one small set and one large. On my little back, the smaller knobs were perfect for the muscles along my spine and around my shoulder blades. But the bigger knobs worked nicely up and down my neck and on my assistant’s larger back and neck. The bigger knobs also worked a little better over clothing.
Because the toy is plastic, it didn’t absorb any of the oil – making cleanup easier. Furthermore, we found that the massager was very easy to grip and didn’t slip around, even with all the oil we were using.
But the real golden feature of this massager is in just one of the large knobs – a ball bearing that rotates within the knob. This little “wonder” ball felt exquisite everywhere – even through my clothes and on other muscles without oil. In fact, once my assistant tried out the knob with the ball on me, I was reluctant to let them do anything else! I was also able to massage my own shoulders again later using this little ball (when I was showered and fully dressed again).
So in answer to Aroused Girl’s question – yes, it feels like all of my “molecules” have been pleasantly massaged and relaxed.
My assistant and I agree that the molecular massager has earned itself an 8 out of 10 (that ball boosted it up a couple of points – did I mention that I loved the ball bearing?)

Ah, thank you for satisfying my insatiable curiousity.
I have out my notebook.
And my textbook.
Hmmmmmmmmm
You should write a book on Masturbatory Rocket Science. The maximum thrust capacity of heat seeking missiles on soft tissue?
I’d buy it!
